Coinbase to Expand as ‘Everything Exchange’ for U.S. Users
Coinbase is preparing to roll out a major platform expansion in the coming months, aiming to become an “everything exchange” for U.S. users, according to a new report from CNBC.
The expanded offering will include tokenized stocks, prediction markets, early-stage token sales, and additional onchain financial products.
Max Branzburg, Coinbase’s Vice President of Product, confirmed the move, stating, “Everything you want to trade, in a one-stop shop, on-chain. … We’re bringing all assets onchain — stocks, prediction markets, and more.” A newly released marketing video from the exchange also teases the vision of a unified onchain trading experience.
The initiative is part of Coinbase’s broader strategy to expand beyond traditional crypto trading and into tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) and decentralized finance infrastructure. By offering tokenized equity, derivatives, and market speculation tools, the company aims to attract both retail and institutional users looking for streamlined access to next-gen financial instruments.

However, Coinbase will face stiff competition, especially in the prediction markets sector. U.S.-based Kalshi remains the only federally licensed prediction market platform, while Polymarket, a global leader in this space, is preparing to re-enter the U.S. market following its acquisition of licensed derivatives exchange QCEX.
Coinbase’s expansion comes amid rising demand for blockchain-native access to real-world markets, and could position the platform as a key player in the evolution of onchain finance in the United States.
