Director of Foreign Tourism Marketing and Development Office of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism Organization, Moslem Shojai, has called for mutual visa exemption among BRICS countries.

Speaking at the first Alliance Travel Forum held in Moscow, Shojai noted that Iran has already waived visa requirements for 10 out of the 16 countries in the BRICS group.

He emphasized the need to increase the number of direct flights between alliance countries, highlighting the role of airlines in promoting the tourism industry.

The official also underscored the importance of the private sector in the development of the tourism industry within the alliance, pointing out that collaborative efforts among travel agencies can stimulate an increase in short-haul trips.
