In the past year, the number of installed cryptocurrency ATMs globally has increased by 17.8%, reaching 38,279 units, close to the record of 39,541 units set in October 2022.

According to data from Coin ATM Radar, 2,564 new cryptocurrency machines were installed in 2024, showing a positive trend compared to the 2,861 machines removed in 2023.

From October 2023 to July 2024, the total number has been increasing every month.

Leading operators of cryptocurrency machines include Bitcoin Depot, Coinflip, and Athena Bitcoin, with 7,543, 5,057, and 2,756 machines respectively.

Bitcoin remains the most popular cryptocurrency in transactions, followed by Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, and Litecoin.

Over 82% of the world’s cryptocurrency machines are located in the United States, followed by Canada at 7.7%. The number of machines in Australia has grown nearly 17 times in the past two years, reaching 1,107.

Other countries with a significant number of cryptocurrency ATMs include Spain (313), Poland (279), El Salvador (215), Poland (211), Germany (177), and Hong Kong (169). New Zealand also has over 100 cryptomata.
