Saudi Arabia is still considering its decision to join, Argentina failed, and BRICS member India seems dissatisfied with the latest additions. At the 2024 summit, India is considering rejecting all proposals for new membership.
Both Russia and China are aiming for further expansion of BRICS during the upcoming summit with the intention of creating a bloc that will challenge the influence of the USA, Europe, and other Western countries. However, India is concerned that Russia and China are using BRICS to develop their own geopolitical ambitions, instead of promoting a balanced partnership.
