MicroStrategy Executive Chairman Michael Saylor believes Bitcoin’s dominance in the digital asset space remains unshakable, with most new capital still flowing toward the cryptocurrency he calls a “global monetary commodity.”
Saylor highlighted that the number of publicly known corporate Bitcoin holders has jumped from about 60 to 160 in just half a year. He argued that Bitcoin offers a unique blend of “lower risk, higher returns” compared to traditional investments, adding, “It’s the clearest strategy you can have, I expect it to outperform the S&P 500 indefinitely.”
MicroStrategy’s own approach goes beyond simply holding BTC. The firm has rolled out multiple Bitcoin-backed financial products aimed at both individual and institutional investors, including:
- A 21-year BTC-backed bond (“Strife”) with an 8.5% dividend yield.
- A high-yield, long-term option (“Strike”) paying 11.5%.
- A monthly Bitcoin-secured bond (“Stretch CRC”) offering 9% for those seeking short-term returns.

Saylor described demand for these instruments as “phenomenal,” noting strong uptake from across the investor spectrum.
He also linked global policy shifts to Bitcoin’s potential upside, pointing to the Trump administration’s recently announced tariffs on gold imports.
In his view, such measures will strengthen Bitcoin’s appeal as “digital gold” – an asset that “lives in cyberspace, weighs nothing, crosses borders in minutes, and is immune to customs duties.” According to Saylor, this dynamic could spark the next wave of institutional adoption.
