On February 27, 2022, influencer Logan Paul filed a defamation lawsuit against Stephen Findeisen, also known as “Coffeezilla,” on YouTube in response to his videos about Paul’s failed NFT project CryptoZoo in 2021. Paul is seeking $75,000 in damages, plus interest and court costs, as well as additional damages and relief ordered by the court.

According to the lawsuit, Findeisen made malicious and repeated false statements accusing Paul of fraud related to a struggling blockchain project called CryptoZoo in a series of three videos. The lawsuit claims that Paul filed this defamation lawsuit to hold Findeisen accountable for his actions and to make him responsible for the significant damage to Paul’s reputation caused by intentionally and recklessly spreading false statements.

In the videos, Findeisen criticized Paul for withholding funds from NFT holders without delivering on promises, calling it “Logan Paul’s biggest scam.” However, Paul claims that Findeisen intentionally omitted some information in his videos, indicating that he was deeply involved in CryptoZoo’s success but was “deceived by a trusted project advisor.” The claim states that Findeisen was well aware that Paul never intended to defraud anyone and instead wanted to create a legitimate blockchain-based game.

CryptoZoo was launched in 2021 as a game where players use ZOO tokens to purchase NFT “eggs” that hatch into animals, which can be bred into hybrid species and traded for more Zoo tokens based on their rarity. However, according to CoinMarketCap data at the time of writing, ZOO tokens are almost worthless, with a market value of zero and a trading volume of $2 on the last day.
