Venture capital firms have invested over $900,000 in projects combining artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain, reflecting growing confidence in the synergies between these technologies.
Compute Labs, a protocol on the Solana blockchain specializing in GPU tokenization, recently secured $3 million in pre-seed funding. Led by Protocol Labs, this round included investors such as Blockchain Coinvestors, MH Ventures, and OKX Ventures. Powered by the NVIDIA Inception VC Alliance, Compute Labs aims to democratize enterprise-grade GPUs for a broader audience through its GPU tokenization solution. Founder and CEO Albert Z. seeks to democratize these resources, allowing ordinary investors to participate in the computing economy.
Meanwhile, Sentient Labs, an AI startup co-founded by Sandeep Nailwal, raised $85 million in funding led by Founders Fund, with participation from Pantera Capital and Framework Ventures. Sentient Labs is developing an open-source platform to compensate developers contributing to AI tools like chatbots and enterprise software. They plan to launch a test network for the Sentient platform in the third quarter, a pivotal step in their progress.
This platform aims to reward engineers for critical tasks such as data labeling, essential for AI model training. It is being developed using Polygon’s layer-two solution on Ethereum.
Christian Mogodichi, founder and CEO of Zaya AI, highlighted the transformative potential of merging AI with blockchain, noting that this combination enhances the functionality and security of smart contracts. He also emphasized that blockchain’s decentralized nature democratizes AI technologies, making them more scalable and accessible.
Grayscale’s latest report also underscores artificial intelligence as a key theme in the industry, particularly in smart contract platforms and communal services. Expert insights and substantial investments highlight the promising future of AI and blockchain convergence, driving innovation, attracting significant investments, and enhancing market outcomes.
